Former MLB Pitcher Faces Lawsuit, Investigation
Trevor Bauer, a former Major League Baseball pitcher, has reached a settlement with a woman who accused him of assault in 2021. The woman alleged that Bauer beat and sexually assaulted her after a night out in Pasadena, California.
Bauer was initially arrested in July 2021 and charged with felony assault. However, the charges were dropped in February 2022 after the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office declined to pursue the case. Bauer also faces a civil lawsuit filed by the woman.
Investigation Ongoing
Despite the settlement, the Pasadena Police Department is continuing to investigate the allegations against Bauer. The department has not released any further information about its investigation.
Bauer's Career
Bauer is a former All-Star pitcher who has played for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Cleveland Indians, and Los Angeles Dodgers. He was drafted by the Diamondbacks with the third overall pick in the 2011 MLB Draft.
Bauer has been on administrative leave from the Dodgers since July 2021. It is unclear if he will ever return to Major League Baseball.
